The United States Navy traces its origins to the Continental Navy, which the Continental Congress established on 13 October 1775, by authorizing the procurement, fitting out, manning, and dispatch of two armed vessels to cruise in search of munitions ships supplying the British Army in America. The legislation also established a Naval Committee to supervise the work. All together, the Continental Navy numbered some fifty ships over the course of the war, with approximately twenty warships active at its maximum strength. Thank you for this.  I am a Navy Vietnam Vet.  I did two tours.  You made me very proud to have had the privilege to serve this great nation of ours.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY U S NAVY!

I too am a Vietnam Navy vet. God bless the USA and all of those standing guard for our freedoms. GO NAVY!!!!!

Thank you both for serving our Country and Welcome Home!

I am honored and proud to be standing with you both, and all our other veterans, in this fight to Take Our Country Back!

GOD BLESS the US NAVY!!

We should all thank our service members and their families for there sacrifice. My father served and retired from the U.S.N. I was so proud of him and the uniform that stood for freedom. He looks down from heaven knowing his brothers and sisters still carry on the fight. I may have chosen a different branch to serve and retire, but the U.S. Navy will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you all and God Bless

my father spent 30 years in the navy, and was a veteran of world war two, korea, and vietnam. he is buried in arlington cemetery...if somebody ever asked me about my father, this is what i tell them, and it is an honor to be his son.
