Scalia takes swipe at Obama immigration action

By JENNIFER EPSTEIN, politico.com

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia suggested Monday that the Framers of the Constitution would have “rushed to the exits” if presented with the idea behind President Barack Obama’s recent decision not to enforce certain immigration laws.

The Supreme Court’s decision to strike down most of the key provisions of Arizona’s SB 1070 immigration law “boggles the mind” in light of the Obama policy shift, Scalia added.

Speaking in dissent of most of the court’s rulings on Arizona’s immigration law, Scalia took a clear swipe in his remarks at the Obama administration’s new policy ending deportations of many young adults brought into the country illegally — which was not part of the Arizona case.

“The president has said that the new program is ‘the right thing to do’ in light of Congress’s failure to pass the administration’s proposed revision of the immigration laws,” Scalia said. “Perhaps it is, though Arizona might not think so.”

We all know the Illegals are Obummers Undocumented DamnOCrap/Obummer Voters for 2012. They are just being used just like anyone else. Just like those who are told to ask friends and family to donate $$$ to Obummer's campaign instead of giving them gifts. If this isn't disgusting I don't know what is. If the Illegals think he cares about them, they are fooling themselves.

Scalia is one of the VERY FEW in the Supreme Court that cares about the Constitution

Not quite. You've got your Republicans and your Democrats and then you've got the people they both work for.

"The eight years of President George W. Bush’s administration saw a marked increase in illegal immigration and a drop in immigration enforcement throughout much of his tenure. For example, the number of illegal aliens arrested in workplace cases fell from nearly 3,000 in 1999 to 445 in 2003, with the number of criminal cases against employers during this period falling from 182 to four. Not surprisingly, by 2005, there were an estimated 10-20 million illegal aliens living in the United States. Even at the end of 2007 after the Bush administration’s enforcement crackdown had been underway; only 92 criminal arrests of employers had taken place, in an economy that, according to the Washington Post, includes 6 million businesses that employ more than 7 million illegal foreign workers.

Despite the failure of past amnesties and the fact that these increase illegal immigration, Bush repeatedly pushed mass legalization (amnesty) schemes for illegal immigrants using the well-worn line that they “are doing jobs Americans will not” or “are not” doing. One scheme was the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act 2007 which was defeated by widespread popular opposition."

This is a long term, hope-you-forget North American Union. What's new is using executive orders to gain votes at the expense of the American worker.

The American people need to trump obama's executive orders by considering all obama's orders null and void.

Right,  Bush should have locked up the Border with troops the day after 911.  It would have been done, and nobody would have said a word.   Maybe the next President can do that as well, as long as it ain't Obama.

Our motto : If obama wants em here he can pay for them with his money NOT our's.

Grace,  I would like to see a national referendum on that.  All those that want Amnesty have to pay for the Billions is costs from them, and all that do NOT want Amnesty, doesn't have to pay.  And if those that want Amnesty find Illegals have no place to stay, they can put some into their homes as well.

Think they would be for Amnesty then??  Ignorant voters never look at the consequences until it hits them in the wallet.

whatever obumble promises he will take it back IF (God Forbid) he gets reelected.    I pray every day that everything he is doing gets struck down but I'll be happy with Obumblecare for now.       I can't quite understand where he boasts free healthcare but then spouts about MAKING us BUY INSURANCE?    This needs to be explained better...  our taxes go to pay for free healthcare... but we have to buy our own healthcare..   ????     Is this the goal of the BUMBLES ???     Mass CHAOS and confusion ??   Or should I say MORE CHAOS and confusion  ??

Obama is the most unlawful president ever. He thinks he's above the law. I'm sure he wishes this was a dictatorship country, and he hates our political system. But too bad! The system is designed to keep dictators like him in line. It's so annoying to hear the media call him a "constitutional scholar", when all he's tried to do his entire presidency is attempt to get around the constitution.

Who else would be better qualified to undercut the US Constitution, than a constitutional "scholar". In order to undermine something, you have to know its weaknesses. The Consitution DOES have its weaknesses, that can be used against itself.
Now, is Obama the real "scholar" behind all this constitutional wrangling? I'm not sure. If he isn't, there's definitely others behind the scenes that are.
But, if "We the People" had been on the ball, all this time, in knowing and understanding the Constitution OURSELVES, and treating it as a binding contract between the government and the governed, we might not be in this mess today.

ELENA KAGAN AND THE OTHER COMMUNIST DUMBO APPOINTED TO THE BENCH, KAGAN HELPED WRITE BUMMACARE AND ALSO ROMNEY WAS CALLED IN BY THE WHITEHOUSE BEFORE HE EVER STARTED RUNNING FOR PREZ. BECAUSE HE HAD THE SAME THING IN MASS. KAGAN IS DOING HER BEST TO DESTROY THE CONSTITUTION ALONG WITH DUMBO FROM WITHIN.

This is Obama's and the Dem's way of saying to the American citizens, screw you.  Well, God willing come Nov. 2012, we can give him the same "response".  Illegals don't have to obey the laws of the United States.   Millions of Americans out of work, but he let's the illegals stay to take our jobs.

With the Communist now running the Democrat Party we have to more then ever speak out and not stay silent.

Don't be afraid what people think that's just the communist trying to shut you up threw political correctness.

This immagration problem was born idea of the evil communist elite. To destroy or nation sovereignty, identity and our patriotism. You get the new immigrants that don't know what the United States is all about and there GOD given rights freedoms and liberities. All these illegel aliens know is a free hand out and will give there vote to any one. That's why the communist what the amasty. The illegel immigrantss don't learn about our nations history. Illege limmigrants  don't apperate our nations freedom and liberties. The communist can get the illegel immigrants to do any thing. They don't know there rights. There not teaching it in school.

ALERT ALERT

Romney Handed Shock
Defeat By Own State’s GOP

Mitt Romney is back in state politics, this time in Utah instead of Massachusetts. However, conservatives in The Beehive State aren’t exactly warming up to the 2012 Republican standard-bearer quite the way many people expected they would.

After finishing second in votes at the state GOP convention, Romney will now face a primary in his run for the Senate seat being vacated by Orrin Hatch, Fox News reported.

At the convention in West Valley City on Saturday, Romney polled just behind state lawmaker Mike Kennedy.

Kennedy captured 50.18 percent of the delegate vote compared to Romney’s 49.12 percent.

That means the two will face off in a primary on June 26 to determine who will represent the GOP this fall.

Romney, the first Mormon to head a major party ticket, is considered an extremely popular figure in Utah and was widely expected to have an easy path to the upper chamber.

In a hypothetical matchup with Democrat Jenny Wilson, at least one poll showed Romney up by 46 percent. That’s, uh, slightly more than the margin of error.

However, among party loyalists, Romney isn’t exactly viewed with unalloyed fondness.

The 2012 presidential nominee was always known for being decidedly moderate, particularly on issues of immigration and global trade. There was also the fact that he ran a campaign so bumbling that it almost made Michael Dukakis look good.

And then there was Romney’s war of words with Donald Trump during the 2016 campaign, which likely led many to perceive he secretly wished Hillary Clinton would take the Oval Office.

Trump would later consider Romney as a secretary of state pick, although how serious the president-elect was about appointing him is something we’ll likely never know.

While your average Utah Republican is unlikely to let these slights affect their vote, hardcore party activists probably don’t want another RINO who isn’t exactly known for his rapport with the president in the upper chamber of Congress, no matter how famous he may be.

For his part, Romney tried to put a good spin on the humiliation.

“I’m delighted with the outcome. Did very, very well,” he told KSTU. “On to a good, important primary ahead. This is terrific for the people of Utah.”

Dude, you just lost to a guy nobody has ever heard of. However, Kennedy was happy with the results, and unlike Romney, he had good reason to be.

“I’m a candidate with a compelling life story and a unique set of life circumstances I’d like to use to serve the people of Utah,” Kennedy said.

I have no idea what that story or those circumstances are, but I think the key point here is that he’s not Mitt Romney. If he wants to win, that’s pretty much what he should be focusing on. I can see the billboards now. “Mike Kennedy: Not Mitt Romney.” “Mike Kennedy: He didn’t borrow Ward Cleaver’s haircut.” “Mike Kennedy: Because Utah deserves a senator whose favorite food isn’t buttered noodles.”

Utah’s electorate tends to be less conservative than convention-goers, so it’s unlikely that Romney won’t be the GOP nominee for Senate. However, that’s not a 100 percent certainty — and it wouldn’t be the first time he’s lost to a Kennedy.
