Dem Senator Patrick Leahy Threatens Supreme Court.... Did Kagan Leak Information About The Chief Justice????

Dem Senator Threatens Supreme Court

Patrick Leahy SC Dem Senator Threatens Supreme Court

Two months ago, Barack Obama decided he could intimidate the United States Supreme Court into finding his namesake healthcare plan Constitutional. Overturning the Affordable Care Act “…would amount to an unprecedented, extraordinary step of judicial activism” said the President at a rare White House news conference, adding “…I’m confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress.”

Though someone with the hyper-arrogant mentality of the Manchurian Candidate doesn’t really need a reason to direct this sort of psycho-babble at a presumptive enemy, Obama was probably responding to information provided by far left Justice Elena Kagan that the Court’s closed-door, preliminary vote on ObamaCare had not gone very well. Each Friday, the 9 justices gather for an initial vote on the cases heard during the week. And although these weekly conferences are to be strictly confidential, it’s a safe bet that Obama’s Court stoolie was on the phone with the White House minutes after its conclusion.

However, as this preemptive strike on the court was met with a nationwide flurry of criticism even from a number of his media supporters, Obama made no further reference to the prospective ruling.

But on Monday, a new county was heard from. Dedicated leftist Senator Patrick Leahy directed a 2000 word dissertation at the Court from the Senate floor, selecting as his principle target Chief Justice John Roberts. “The constitutional challenge to the Affordable Care Act is the current instance in which narrow ideology and partisanship are pressuring the Supreme Court to intervene where it should not,” claimed Leahy, making clear his view that the Court has no business interfering with a Congressional assault on the Constitution. The senator advanced the 2000 Bush/Gore decision as an example of the sort of “judicial activism” that “shook the confidence of the American people in the Supreme Court.”  He ridiculed conservative justices for their tough questioning of principle ObamaCare advocate Solicitor General Donald Verilli during oral arguments, stating “their action will not help restore American’s confidence in the Court to fairly apply the law.”

And he alternately praised and threatened the Chief Justice, literally claiming that if Roberts joined other conservatives in a 5-4 decision against ObamaCare it would “…undoubtedly further erode the reputation and legitimacy of the Supreme Court.”

But what prompted Leahy’s sudden decision to lecture the Supreme Court as to its proper role in government? Was it a last ditch effort to intimidate justices into finding ObamaCare constitutional? Or has Kagan perhaps advised Democrats that Roberts is “wavering” a bit, leading Leahy to believe his misguided, nonsensical claims might persuade the Chief Justice to decide in favor of passage?

Since its enactment in 2010, liberals have believed the Affordable Care Act to be a sure thing to pass Constitutional muster. They were stunned when Justices took offense at the law’s contempt for individual liberty during oral arguments. After all, how could forcing Americans to purchase something they don’t want be unconstitutional if it’s for their own good!

If 5 Justices rule the ObamaCare individual mandate unconstitutional, the American people will hear a wailing and gnashing of teeth unequaled since the pro-Gore efforts of the Florida Supreme Court were undone after the 2000 election. We will be in for some very entertaining days.

Who the H is Leahy to lecture the Supreme Court?

I wouldn't be surprised if Kagan told obama the direction the court was taking on the piece of trash legislation. She is as unsuitable for the S. Court as obama is the presidency.

It's highly probable that Kagan did share information, only because she was nominated by him to scratch his back, according to reports.  And then there's mouthy Leahy who needs to retire NOW.  There are so many backstabbers in the w.h.  The Supreme Court is just that...supreme, and obamanation doesn't want to give in to their decision(s).  As I continue to read all the garbage being spewed by the leftist, I can't tell who is telling any truth to anything, so it's just a sore spot, and then I pull up my suspenders and go onto the next.

PATRICK LEAHEY IS A DISGRACE TO THE NAME PATRICK. HE IS A FLAG BURNER AND A BABY KILLER. A LOSE LIPPER WHO HAS DAMAGED THIS NATION SINCE HE WAS HATCHED. HE COMES FROM THE STATE THAT GIVES US BERNIE SANDERS. TO ME BOTH ARE COMMUNISTS. LOOK ASHAMED VERMONT AT WHAT YOU SEND TO KILL THE COUNTRY. THE STATE THAT HAS PEDOPHILE SYMPATICO  JUDGES. I'm beginning to have the same feeling as the citizens of Europe after their countries were Liberated by the Allies, when it came time to pay Restitution to the Collaborators and Traitors to their countries.  There WILL be a time, not far off that We are going to Liberate our Nation !  I'm making a list...i'm told i'm on a list....just Who the Traitors and Collaborators are to our nation and Constitution.   We Shall Not Forget !    And, that's all i have to say about this.         Semper Fidelis

Perhaps Leahy should turn his focus on Obama and lecture OBAMA about what it means to function under the Constitution.

Exactly right!

LEAHY , KAGAN , SOTOMAYER , BIDEN , ' HITLERY ' CLINTON , obummer AND THE ENTIRE MIS~ADMINISTRATION CAN GO BACK TO HELL FROM WHENCE THEY CAME . " WE THE PEOPLE " HATE YOUR ILLEGAL IDEAS AND WE HATE YOUR " FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGING " AMERICA . WE LOVE AMERICA JUST THE WAY IT WAS FOUNDED , AND YOU FOOLS WANT TO CHANGE IT TO A SOCIALIST NATION . WE WILL KICK EVERY ONE OF YOU OUT ON YOUR ASSES     AND RESTORE AMERICA TO THE CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC WE KNOW .

Get term limits. That would help break up of code of silence and keep new elected officials to remember that they work for us, we are not their slaves, they are not the elite. Kick their ass out of office they first time they don't uphold our constitution.

Nothing is going to happen till we stand together.

These jerks wanna be careful who they threaten. Without the Supreme Court you have no law. With no law you have anarchy. With anarchy you have revolt. And in a revolution, the pee-ons will NOT be the first to go.  Not at all.

Leary is a left wing-nut. Vt. has been trying to get rid of that clown for a long time.  Kagan is a disgrace as a Justice of the SJC.  Should Bozo our Communist Muslim Dictator choose to disobey the SJC I can almost assure everyone that there will be a 1776 moment in the USA for a second time!!!!

And I think that time is getting closer and closer.

Romney Handed Shock
Defeat By Own State’s GOP

Mitt Romney is back in state politics, this time in Utah instead of Massachusetts. However, conservatives in The Beehive State aren’t exactly warming up to the 2012 Republican standard-bearer quite the way many people expected they would.

After finishing second in votes at the state GOP convention, Romney will now face a primary in his run for the Senate seat being vacated by Orrin Hatch, Fox News reported.

At the convention in West Valley City on Saturday, Romney polled just behind state lawmaker Mike Kennedy.

Kennedy captured 50.18 percent of the delegate vote compared to Romney’s 49.12 percent.

That means the two will face off in a primary on June 26 to determine who will represent the GOP this fall.

Romney, the first Mormon to head a major party ticket, is considered an extremely popular figure in Utah and was widely expected to have an easy path to the upper chamber.

In a hypothetical matchup with Democrat Jenny Wilson, at least one poll showed Romney up by 46 percent. That’s, uh, slightly more than the margin of error.

However, among party loyalists, Romney isn’t exactly viewed with unalloyed fondness.

The 2012 presidential nominee was always known for being decidedly moderate, particularly on issues of immigration and global trade. There was also the fact that he ran a campaign so bumbling that it almost made Michael Dukakis look good.

And then there was Romney’s war of words with Donald Trump during the 2016 campaign, which likely led many to perceive he secretly wished Hillary Clinton would take the Oval Office.

Trump would later consider Romney as a secretary of state pick, although how serious the president-elect was about appointing him is something we’ll likely never know.

While your average Utah Republican is unlikely to let these slights affect their vote, hardcore party activists probably don’t want another RINO who isn’t exactly known for his rapport with the president in the upper chamber of Congress, no matter how famous he may be.

For his part, Romney tried to put a good spin on the humiliation.

“I’m delighted with the outcome. Did very, very well,” he told KSTU. “On to a good, important primary ahead. This is terrific for the people of Utah.”

Dude, you just lost to a guy nobody has ever heard of. However, Kennedy was happy with the results, and unlike Romney, he had good reason to be.

“I’m a candidate with a compelling life story and a unique set of life circumstances I’d like to use to serve the people of Utah,” Kennedy said.

I have no idea what that story or those circumstances are, but I think the key point here is that he’s not Mitt Romney. If he wants to win, that’s pretty much what he should be focusing on. I can see the billboards now. “Mike Kennedy: Not Mitt Romney.” “Mike Kennedy: He didn’t borrow Ward Cleaver’s haircut.” “Mike Kennedy: Because Utah deserves a senator whose favorite food isn’t buttered noodles.”

Utah’s electorate tends to be less conservative than convention-goers, so it’s unlikely that Romney won’t be the GOP nominee for Senate. However, that’s not a 100 percent certainty — and it wouldn’t be the first time he’s lost to a Kennedy.
