No free ride: Two-thirds of Obamacare recipients had to repay subsidies to IRS

Most filers who received government subsidies to buy Obamacare plans had to pay money back to the IRS this year, according to an H&R Block analysis released Monday that looks at the health law’s first full tax season.

The tax-prep giant studied its own massive customer base and concluded that two-thirds of its filers who got subsidies from Obamacare were overpaid during the course of the year, and owed money back to the IRS on the April 15 deadline.

They repaid $729 on average, cutting the average refund by about a third.

Under the original terms of the Affordable Care Act they would have been capped at repayments of just $250, but Congress went back and lifted those caps, ensuring that the government could “claw back” most of the overpayments, and saving billions of dollars that have gone to other government priorities.

Maybe more pain will wake people up.

smoke and mirror bullshiite from fuehrer oblahblah!!!!!

There is more than one fuehrer. They all act like one. Congressman and senators on both sides just say "we'll take your comments". We have no where to go for relief. The confirmation of Loretta Lynch/Hitlary running around for prez/Lois Lerner still free/etc. All proof there is only one option.

A "tax" must originate in the house of representatives, not the white house. The stupreme court can't legislate a tax from the bench, strike two. "If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor", "if you like your plan, you can keep your plan", If any part of an agreement is fraudulent the whole agreement is void. Strike three. "no laws may interfere with the obligation of contracts" Strike four. Obama is not a "sitting pResident" a fraud can't be pResident, if he falsifies documents to get on the ballot, that's called "election fraud". Add to that, wire fraud, mail fraud, campaign fraud, using forged documents for gain, etc.

all true

I asked Ted Cruz's office about the supreme court levying a tax and that obamacare can be repealed and trashed on that simple fact.

They told me they can't answer my question and if the IRS comes for me I will have to figure it out.

so Cruz is like the rest. No real courage to answer with the truth. Call em up and ask "Mr. Constitutional" himself. Jeb Hensarling says it's "how you interpret it". now who in the hell does that sound like. LIBERALS

Ha, ha, ha...................we told you so!!!

Imagine that all of Obama's words were lies. These koolaid drinkers will never see the light of day.

Too bad the cost wasn't higher to the people. Maybe they would then wake up and see what Obama and all his cronies really are. AHOLES who need to GOOOOOO BYE BYE

NO, the poor will be told it was those mean Republicans that changed the law .... resulting in their refund and earned income checks being smaller.  They will be told to elect more Democrats if they want to correct the problem and return to full refunds in 2016.

No, these people are 'brain dead'.  They will blame the GOP Congress for making this happen.  You know the Messiah never has to take responsibility for anything.

OMG!! WTF!!: Rep. Ilhan Omar Tells CNN That She Doesn’t Know Why Her Anti-Israel Tweets Would Offend Jewish People

Rep. Ilhan Omar defended her anti-Israel sentiments on CNN on Thursday, saying that she doesn’t know why those comments would offend the Jewish-American community.

Omar famously tweeted in 2012 that “Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.”

When asked about the tweet by CNN, Omar responded, “oh, that’s a really regrettable way of expressing that. I don’t know how my comments would be offensive to Jewish-Americans.”

Omar added that her comments were “precisely addressing what was happening during the Gaza war,” and that she was “clearly” speaking about the way the “Israeli regime” was “conducting themselves in that war.”

Without any follow-up or push back, CNN moved on to asking the accused antisemitic congresswoman about her opinions on Rep. Steve King and his “racist remarks.”

While her perceived antisemitism is given a pass — Rep. King is boldly branded without any hesitation.

King has repeatedly stated that he was taken out of context and disavowed white supremacy and all forms of hatred – while Omar stands behind her bigotry. Yet, only King is facing consequences and blow back.
