U.N. Security Council / AP

The United Nations Security Council voted on Tuesday to reject a resolution that would have called for the establishment of a Palestinian state by 2017.

The resolution, which would have called for an Israeli withdrawal from Judea and Samaria and the establishment of a Palestinian state with east Jerusalem as its capital, came just one vote short of passing, according to an Israel Hayomreport.

The resolution needed nine votes in favor (out of 15) to pass. It fell one vote short, obtaining eight votes in favor (Russia, China, France, Jordan, Chad, Luxembourg, Argentina and Chile), two against (the United States and Australia), and five abstentions (Britain, Rwanda, Nigeria, Lithuania and South Korea). However, even if the resolution had passed, the U.S. would have vetoed it.

Before the vote, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with the leaders of three of the nations that ended up abstaining, including Rwanda and Nigeria, and asked them to not vote in favor of the Palestinian resolution.

On Wednesday morning, Netanyahu said, “I want to express appreciation and thanks to the U.S. and Australia, and also special appreciation to the president of Rwanda, my friend Paul Kagame, and the president of Nigeria, my friend Goodluck Jonathan. I spoke with both of them. They personally promised me they would not support this resolution. They stood by their word, and that is what decided this battle. This was very important for the State of Israel.”

Israeli officials at the U.N. called the resolution “a preposterous unilateral proposal.”

I'm glad it went this way, but to be honest I was fearful about the US being Muslim Obama is president?

Some GREAT NEWS to start 2015 with!

This is starting off the New Years Right. GREAT NEWS

God is always in charge. God Bless Israel!

Great news!  But they lost the resolution by one vote!  Who are these pompous bastards to tell Israel they would have to give up land so the pali's could move in and destroy it and keep on lobbing missiles at Israel.

I'm not up on this as I should be.. but why hasn't anyone demanded that Egypt or Jordan give up some of their land for the Palestinians?

This article was originally written in 1999, but has since been up-dated and current.

The Palestinian cause has been used as a diversionary tactic for a long time, since the 1960s, to call attention away from the Arabs being realistic, responsible, and cleaning up their own crap: abuse of their own people. The Palestinians have been used and abused by their leaders (and leaders from other nations), kept in poverty with little work, and no education - aside from teaching hatred of the Jews as the scapegoat for their problems. The hatred of Jews and Israel isn't the cause of their misery. The Palestinians are the cause of their own misery because they keep rejecting the offer to have their own state and accept Israel's existence. The issue is also about how the Arabs and Muslims  treat Arabs and Muslims. An orchestrated and united anger and hatred is the fuel that keeps the Arabs and Muslims under control and without the ability to see what's really happening and who's truly responsible for it. They have been so brainwashed they are unable to see the truth. Until they can remove the veils from their faces (and I mean both men and women) and see truth there can be no positive change.
  • Israel is the only country in the Middle East that is a democracy, has equal rights for all of its citizens (including women, Jew and Arab, and homosexuals), and the only one that has a free press.

Wow! Actually some good news for Israel? At least they don't have to take on the entire World to keep their country in tact....yet

Finally, a ray of sunshine in this dark world. (No, that was NOT meant to be a racist remark!)

We need to reject the united nations. It is currently made up of our enemies.

ITS ABOUT THE ONLY POSITIVE THING TO COME OUT OF THE U.N. IN YEARS...PALESTINE SHOULD BE BOMBED BACK INTO THE STONEAGE FOR THEIR TERRORISTS ACTIVITIES AND ASSOCIATIONS.

Thank G-d the US did not vote against Israel.

-Genesis 12:3

Thankfully we have people in government who understand the importance of backing Israel.

Why should there be a "Palestinian" state?

SICK: Leprosy On The Rise In Los Angeles

Ahh, the joys of open borders and Democrat leadership.

California is not just a public toilet but now there is evidence that leprosy is on the rise in Los Angeles County.

Barack Obama changed US law in 2016 and allowed immigrants with blistering STDs and leprosy to migrate to the US.

Medscape reported:

Leprosy, also known as Hansen’s disease, is rarely seen in the United States, but cases continue to emerge in Los Angeles County, a new report says.

“Hansen’s disease still exists, and we need to educate medical students and physicians,” coauthor Dr. Maria Teresa Ochoa from Keck Medical Center of the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, told Reuters Health by email.

Dr. Ochoa and colleagues identified 187 patients with the disease in a review of medical records from their leprosy clinic spanning 1973 to 2018. Most patients were Latino, originating from Mexico, and they experienced a median delay in diagnosis of more than three years, the team reports JAMA Dermatology, online August 7.

Multibacillary leprosy (MB) cases outnumbered paucibacillary leprosy (PB) cases by nearly eight to one (88.6% vs. 11.4%, respectively), and Latino patients were more likely than non-Latino patients to have MB, as were patients from Central or South America (versus other regions).

Most patients (80.7%) received multidrug therapy, and most (92.6%) received antibiotics for more than two years, especially if they had MB.

Only about half of patients (56.7%) had World Health Organization (WHO) grade 0 disability (no signs or symptoms suggestive of leprosy or disability) at the one-year follow-up, whereas 16.0% had grade 1 disability (loss of protective sensation) and 26.2% had grade 2 disability (visible deformity) at the last follow-up.

Among the patients who lost protective sensation, 87.7% (50/57) did not regain it following therapy.
