The year 2013 began with a debate over private ownership of guns and ended with a failed launch of Obamacare. It has seen government encroachment into the lives of Americans, first with the IRS scandal — which saw government agencies target conservative groups — and later, the shocking revelations divulged by leaker Edward Snowden that the NSA has been spying on American citizens both online and on the phone.
Trevor Loudon, an author and blogger from New Zealand who has spoken to over 200 tea party groups in 30 states, decried the “normalcy bias” that blinds Americans from seeing a future America without liberty, the Constitution and military strength in an exclusive interview with The Daily Caller.
“When you grow up like that [with a strong national history], you think it’s going to go on forever,” Loudon said. “But there’s no law of nature that guarantees that.”
But, “if America fails, and America is in danger of failure — that is a harsh reality — if America fails, the West goes down,” he said.
Excellent post, Mr. Long.
Then we were a manufacturing giant. We don't produce anything anymore. We get steel from China, in fact we get most things from China. We don't make much of nothing.
The terrible resolve is painstaking. The efforts have been futile. Ramp up and, surround them.
If we don't organize in 2014 then the answer could be "yes"
Lost? Not until the war is Over. I will not bow to a Tyrant.
2013 is after the line had been crossed! It is now that the hackles are up and change is in the offing. After the rise in the cost of living from 0bamacare even the left is getting on board. It is seen in the recalls, marches on DC, signs hanging off overpasses, signs on vehicles, bumper stickers, empty chairs sitting outside homes and businesses, flags flying upside down, 'Don't tread on Me' tags on cars etc. They all are saying one thing... 'ENOUGH IS ENOUGH'!!
The answer is No. It has been a process from at least the thirties, perhaps even before. In the last decade events have accelerated. We are no longer a sleeping giant that merely needs awakening. We are a leaderless people who have neglected our responsibilities by expecting the government to "do it for us" rather than holding them responsible to us, the people. Many, many don't even care. Those who do care can only talk about it, and those in government who claim to care do nothing but talk themselves. The demographic has changed so much in my lifetime that our country has become nearly unrecognizable as to what it once was and was intended to be.
Yes, we still have decent people in our ranks. The tea party for instance. But the bad far outweighs the good. We cannot accurately compare what we have let ourselves become with that of the country in 1941. And I think that the major reason we have sunk so low is that we have forgotten God. And He is the One who set this nation up in the first place. My opinions, those.
Dale, I agree 100%.
