The 2014 Battle - Obamacare Amunition to help you win your arguments

Whether you like Obamacare or not, nationalizing healthcare was the boldest legislative achievement of any president since anything Ronald Regan did in the 1980s.

But the cost for Obama politically has been very high. Since passing ACA, Obama has lost control over the House by a fairly large margin. The mid-term election in 2010, which can only be described as a terrible defeat for the president, was a direct result of the bizarre way Obamacare passed. And, also, the bizarre promises made to pass it.

It was hailed as a “deficit reducer,” as the savior for small business, as a job creator and, if you qualified for certain tax credits, it would wash and wax your car on non-Christian holy days.

But it was passed unread, unvetted and unwisely, and thus the gargantuan legislation raised serious doubts about the Democrats’ ability to responsibly approach any problem.

Consequently, the American people split up the government. This has hampered Obama’s ability to be effective in implementing other parts of his agenda.

For conservatives, of course, that’s the good news.

For Obama, the results probably augur poorly for him.

History will likely look back at Obama’s presidency and judge it mostly in regards to Obamacare. And unfortunately for the president, whatever history may say, contemporary facts are not being kind to his healthcare overhaul so far.

The people in 2010 proved prescient in that the vote proved they doubted Democrats could deliver on their promises for their version of healthcare reform.

And now even elected Democrats are having doubts about the wisdom of Obamacare. The Senate, still controlled by Obama’s party, symbolically voted to repeal a key piece of the legislation- the medical device tax- in what is probably the first step towards trying to save the Senate majority for the Democrats. Expect more tinkering with ACA as we get closer to the 2014 midterms.

The GOP has put out a research piece- you can find it here- that details the failed promises that Obama made as regards to healthcare, promises that now sound like they were meant to be broken.

When campaigning for the presidency Obama changed significant portions of his healthcare platform to provide folks a marked contrast from Hillarycare. Clinton’s plan made no pretentions about keeping private insurance. Hillary was going to nationalize healthcare with a single payer system.

Obama however made several emendations to his healthcare “reform” platform including telling people they could keep their doctor and their insurance if they wished.

It was a promise he reiterated when president: “They’ll see that if Americans like their doctor,” said Obama, “they will keep their doctor. And if you like your insurance plan, you will keep it. No one will be able to take that away from you. It hasn’t happened yet. It won’t happen in the future.”

But as Obamcare enters the implementation phase, the new reality of fewer private insurers is sinking in.

“So what happens to the plans that don't meet the new minimum standards?” asks CNN Money, “They will likely disappear. A handful of existing plans will be grandfathered in, but the qualifying criteria for that is hard to meet: Members have to have been enrolled in the plan before the ACA passed in 2010, and the plan has to have maintained fairly steady co-pay, deductible and coverage rates until now.”

But changing to fewer insurance options pales in comparison to the tax bite and premium increases that people are seeing as a result of Obamacare.

“The Society of Actuaries,” writes the Wall Street Journal, “a nonpartisan professional association, has issued a new report warning that the cost of medical claims in the new individual-insurance market could rise by an average of 32% per person over the first few years the law is in place.”

And taxes will go up too- and not just on greedy, banks, -er, strike that- doctors making more than $200,000 per year and hiding money in Cypriot banks.

The taxes, instead, will affect you too.

One key feature of Obamcare is a subsidy promised to middle class families to make insurance more affordable. The problem is that if you get a raise, find a better job or otherwise have too much good fortune, the government will want some of that money back.

“Twice since the health care law was passed Congress has increased the caps for how much people will have to repay,” reports the AP. “Combined, the two measures are expected to raise more than $40 billion over the next decade, according to Congress' Joint Committee on Taxation.”

That’s a novel way of “raising” taxes. Give people money and then force them to give it back. Yes, Obamacare does that too. Prepare to be amazed.

With $40 billion in increased caps, plus 2 percent payroll tax, plus taxes on medical devices- which will paid for by patients not companies- plus taxes on those with higher medical expenses, taxes on drugs and insurance companies- which also will be paid by patients- not the companies, Obama’s party of “Yes we can” has proven conclusively that when it comes to broken promises, broken tax schemes and broken benefits: Yes they can, and yes, they did.

That’s a quite a legacy for Obama.

And it proves that the boldest plans aren’t always the smartest, or cheapest.

However, it gives us multiple facts and examples of the Dems failure to govern responsibly. So now even the 'low information voters' will get what we've been telling them. You can no longer trust either Party completely , we must be diligent and monitor our representatives. The Tea Party was set up for that very reason. It's time to turn every GOP district TP controlled. Demand our candidates sign contracts with the voters and support recall legislation if these contracts are broken.

Thanks to the brilliant John Ransom for input and inspiration

How's that for boldness?

Repeal and go back to work on Health Care is the only option for the USA that makes sense. Full Repeal!

Before ALL is said and done. OBOGUS KENYACOON CARE will be TOTALLY WIPED OUT.   IMHO

If the people don't stand up now it won't matter. Once we become a 3rd world country there won't be healthcare people. How many 3rd world countries supply the people with care,ZERO. Obama is doing exactly what he promised in 2008 people,he said redistribute the wealth of USA. He is doing this with blessing of many of our people,WHY? Anyone who thinks we can survive under Obama and liberals from both parties are out right fools. We are being over run by illegals, high unemployment, high taxes, high fuel cost, less law enforcement and more gestapo tactics. They are on way to enslave the greatest country ever and people just don't care, they think it is dream or something. When these fools wake up and see their are captured by illegal liberal black muslam it is too late. Sometimes I wonder if the USA people are as smart as these third world countries.

As long as low information voters get their freebies, there will be no repercussion.

The GOP will not do anything that connects them to the tea party.  They've made that very clear:

Kathleen I agree the RINO's run the establishment GOP. They are the problem. But we have what they need grassroots support. I hate Obama yet I also hate what the establishment GOP have become. If we start to take over the District committees we can de-select major RINOs thats what they fear. We are fighting an insurgency in this regard. It low level yet incredibly punishing for the individual Representatives as each has to face their own district and it's voters. Boehner is weak and plays the game in DC, he must go! I know its not going to be easy and we will be attacked from both sides but we have a duty!

Hi Rick,

Here is the link

Its a bit long to post as is!

Went to see Steve Tucker (insurance broker) last night.   One of the most knowledgeable

people on obamacare.  He talked about ACO - accountable care organization.  This is

where large hospitals are buying up all hospitals/merging etc.   Once this plan is in place,

it will be able to control our Doctor's salaries (the ones that are left).

He also mentioned why Michelle Bachman did a double take and voted for another CR

without defunding obamacare - She needed Boehners assistance to stay in office.   This

is why we only get these emails from her about being under attack, could you please contribute.

Also the govt covering "pre-conditions" is now gone, why?   they ran out of money on 3/5/2013,

they only had about 100,000 who signed up not the millions the quacks predicted.

There was so much info, but you can go to his website - google steve tucker insurance broker.

The guy is good.

There are NO democrats leading the democratic party , only DEMONRATS straight from hell , anti-GOD , anti-Religion , anti-life , anti morality anti-American and PURE ISLAMIC EVIL .

Anti-success, anti-freedom, anti-community anti-self reliance anti liberty and equality for all..

The saddest part of all this is The Republican Party has done NOTHING to repeal any of it.

I'LL TELL YOU WHAT: The Republican party had better win the Senate and maintain control of Congress in 2014 and then they had better show that they have what it takes to make testosterone, for the last 2 years of Obama, while they impeach him for treason and high crimes against this country. Putting him in a maximum security cell might be the only way of protecting his life instead of secret service protection for life. From everything I read on these blogs and many others Obama will need to hide himself after office.

He is not loved nor liked.

Obama Lies Again: – Ignores That The Year After Signing The Stimulus More Than (4) Million Jobs Were Lost

Former President Obama, the only President in US history who had his FBI and other Intel agencies spy on the opposition party candidate, claims that he created the great economy that Americans are enjoying today. The only thing Obama created was debt and massive job losses with his horrible economic recovery.

Yesterday the former President tweeted an effort to take credit for President Trump’s successful economy:

Joe Hoft@joehoft

Of course another @BarackObama lie. He can’t open his mouth without lying. 11 years ago the US lost (4.3) million jobs over the next 12 months. Horrible liar.

Barack Obama  @BarackObama

Eleven years ago today, near the bottom of the worst recession in generations, I signed the Recovery Act, paving the way for more than a decade of economic growth and the longest streak of job creation in American history.

President Obama’s policies were a disgrace and a failure. He doubled the national debt in spite of zero interest rates from the Fed. His recovery was the worst in US history.

Also, Obama’s assertion is just plain false. The ‘Stimulus’ was passed in February 2009 right after Obama took over the Presidency. He promised to not pass any bills for at least a week to allow for the bills to be read by the people but lied as soon as he was sworn in. The Stimulus was hundreds and hundreds of pages of government handouts to Democrat districts and it was close to $1 million. This was not what America needed and it led to the Tea Party.

Far-left Wikipedia has this to say about the Stimulus:

Note that in his infinite wisdom, NYT economist Paul Krugman is credited with arguing that “the stimulus was far smaller than the economic crisis warranted”. (He also said the markets would crash and burn if President Trump was elected President.)

The data shows that the 12 months after Obama’s stimulus, the US lost 4.3 million jobs:

In Obama’s first three years he netted a loss of 1.5 million jobs compared to President Trump who has added more than 6.7 million jobs.

When it comes to the economy, the billionaire schools the community organizer every time.
